(A) Although nutritional supplementation was once only the domain of strength athletes, the benefits of amino acids and whey protein are now much more widely recognised. (Q) Why are Bioflex supplements cheaper than many others?

(A) Bioflex is able to offer cheap prices as all the processes are done by the one company. We take the raw ingredients, formulate the recipes and do all the manufacturing in house. All of the distribution and sales are also done by Bioflex, and as we don't have a retail outlet it means the prices are even cheaper.

(Q) How do I know the products are high in quality?

(A) We have tested many forms of whey from the U.S, Australia and New Zealand and have selected what we feel is the absolute best whey in terms of mixability, taste and purity. Yes, there were many cheaper options available but we feel using these would result in an inferior product. Taste is also a major factor that many companies seem to overlook. We use a very natural tasting effective flavouring that is very concentrated so we can keep the products extremely pure.

(Q) Where are the products made?

(A) All the products are made in the same facility in Tasmania. We don't use other companies to manufacture anything, this way we can guarantee that everything reaches our high standard of quality.

(Q) Where does Bioflex source its ingredients?

(A) As mentioned previously, Bioflex gets all its protein from Australia or New Zealand. We would like to get all our whey from Australian suppliers but as of yet there is no Australian isolate of a high enough grade to satisfy our stringent standards. All our flavouring is made in Australia with only our sweetener and some Amino Acids being imported.

(Q) I haven't tried your proteins and I am very fussy about taste, can you describe yours?

(A) We know taste is a very important factor and one which we have spent a lot of effort trying to get right. Our flavours are best described as natural and unobtrusive, far different from competitors' unnatural and overly sweet products. We have developed a product in either Chocolate or Vanilla that you should look forward to drinking every time, even after months of having the same flavour.

(Q) My friend told me that U.S Whey's are the best, is this true?

(A) The New Zealand and Australian Whey that Bioflex use is exported all around the world, even though it's substantially more expensive as a raw product than most U.S whey's. This is purely because of its high quality; it's still in huge demand irrespective of the price! The whey's Bioflex use have to pass some of the most stringent safety and quality standards in the world. Many U.S whey's can't legally be imported due to not passing our standards.

(Q) If it's expensive it must be good though?

(A) An important point to consider is that many of the U.S whey products available here are actually manufactured very cheaply in the U.S. For evidence, do a search on some U.S sites and you'll be amazed what American's pay for the protein touted as great quality here. You simply pay more due to the exchange rate losses as well as the mark-up in each link. In a typical scenario the product could go from the manufacturer - U.S distributour - importer - Aus distributour - Retailer. That's a lot of people making money from the product you are paying for! It's no wonder really why the once "cheap" product cost you an arm and a leg. 

(Q) So how do I know if a protein is good quality or not?

(A) The three factors we judge a product on are taste, mixability and purity. Taste and mixability are easiest to asses, while being by far the most important - purity can be the most difficult to compare. The easiest way is to simply look at your protein's nutritional information tab under the "per 100g section". Raw whey concentrate typically has a protein ratio of about 80%. Now obviously companies have to add flavouring to that which affects it a little. Now, many companies sell blends containing whey concentrate, whey isolate and other proteins, but don't disclose how much of each is present. The lower the percentage of total protein, the higher the level of whey concentrate - which is the cheapest form of animal protein.  If your protein product is much under 80%, then we'd guess it's about 90% Whey Concentrate. Many of the well known brands fit this category, while Bioflex's Proflex is a true blend with high levels of calcium caseinate and whey isolate, which are much more expensive to manufacture.

Even the terms Whey Concentrate and whey Isolate often need to be looked at with skepticism. We recommend you always check the nutritional panel of a product before you buy. In our opinion, blends should contain less than 5g of carbs per 100g (some brands have over 10% carbs!) and Isolates should be closer to 1 to 2g per 100g's of Protein.

(Q) Your Glutamine, Creatine and amino acids are much better priced than the competitors, why is this?

(A) Bioflex Creatine, Glutamine and Branched Chain Amino Acids are all at least 99.5% pure (some over 99.9%) and are all pharmaceutical grade in quality. Again we can offer them at great prices as we get them direct from the manufacturer. Frankly, we are a little disgusted with the amount some other companies charge for identical products. 

(Q) I am skeptical about changing from Brand X to Bioflex. How do I get access to feedback from previous customers? Or would any customers be willing to talk to me about their Bioflex experience?

(Q) Are Bioflex supplements created from original formulas or are they replications of other brands?

(A) All Bioflex formulas are completely original. We don't copy other brands and have developed every formula ourselves. We researched the market for years, before coming up with what we thought was the most cost effective, high quality range of supplements available.

(Q) Does Bioflex support local sports and bodybuilding?

(A) Bioflex considers it very important to support those who support us. Even in it's early days we have become the major sponsor of WFF Mr Australia Darran Petty and his very dedicated team of bodybuilders. (Q) My local supplement salesmen always gives me good advice on what to take and how to take it, can those at Bioflex do this?

(A) We are never content to sell a customer a product if we are unsatisfied they won't get maximum benefit from it. If someone incorrectly doses a product, or takes it at a less effective time than optimum then it's likely they'll be unhappy with the results. At Bioflex we discuss and advise with all new customers and recommend the best product's for their needs. We are always willing to take time to talk with existing customers who want more benefit or feel their current products are unsuitable. As we manufacture the products we also feel we can give a much more detailed explanation of sports nutrition than an average salesman. 

(Q) I am a competitive sports person and I have heard some people unknowingly took illegal ingredients found in their supplements, is Bioflex safe?

(A) None of the Bioflex range includes any stimulants, including caffeine, and none of our ingredients appear on the ASADA list for prohibited substances. You can take Bioflex supplements and be assured you are taking a completely safe, legal product. Most of our supplements are suitable for everyone, but if you are unsure, please talk to us about dosages and use before ordering so you can be assured you'll get the best product for your needs.
